Scandinavia

Any book tagged with this topic discusses the history of Scandinavia or discusses historical events and/or figures set in Scandinavia. Scandinavia most commonly refers to the regions we know today as Sweden, Norway and Denmark, though it sometimes includes Greenland, Iceland, and Finland. Scandinavia has been occupied since the Paleolithic, though its harsh and cold climate has made living conditions there extreme. It was long the center of the Old Norse language and Norse mythology and religion, though the large-scale "Christianization" of Scandinavia in the 11th century effectively ended that. Scandinavia is famous for the Vikings and the Viking Age, carved runestones, and for their modern political neutrality.
