Bruce Robinson

Bruce Robinson is an English screenwriter, actor, and author. He aspired to be an actor from a young age, and played in several roles during the 1970's. He then turned to writing screenplays, gaining fame for such scripts as Withnail and I (1987) and The Rum Diary (2011), which he also directed. Robinson began writing in the 1990's and his first published work was a semi-autobiographical novel, The Peculiar Memories of Thomas Penman, made up of interviews given by Robinson. He has also written two children's books after becoming a father, both illustrated by his wife. His first foray into history/true crime was They All Love Jack, published in 2015. This book was the product of more than 12 years of research into the legendary Jack the Ripper and presents Robinson's unique and impassioned theory.
